A face lift is surgery to remove excess skin from the face and neck. Face lift scars are hidden behind the ears in the hair and under the chin.
A face lift can help you feel better about how you look. How long the effects of the procedure last is influenced by such factors as exposure to sun and tobacco products, as well as your genetic makeup.
A face lift alone will not reverse changes in the eye or forehead region. This may require eyelid surgery or a forehead lift. A face lift will not remove fine wrinkles that are part of natural aging, such as those around the lips and eyes. Skin resurfacing procedures such as chemical peel or laser treatment may be needed to address these wrinkles.

Key Facts:
Anesthesia: General anesthesia
Length of procedure: Three to five hours
Length of stay: Outpatient
Anticipate: Temporary bruising two weeks and swelling at least four to six weeks (can last longer), numbness and tenderness of skin, dry or tight-feeling skin
Discomfort: Mild to moderate, controlled with mild pain medications
Recovery: One to three weeks
Rhinoplasty, cosmetic surgery of the nose, helps bring the nose into harmony with the face. This is accomplished by modifying its shape, size, and appearance. The nose has a significant influence on self image. Rhinoplasty, also known as a nose job, can shorten or lengthen the nose, change its shape or contour, narrow the nostrils, or lift and define the tip.
Most patients are pleased with the results of rhinoplasty. The surgery can inspire new confidence and reduce feelings of self consciousness.
The approach used for surgery depends on the desired results and the surgeon's decision on how to perform the procedure. Dr. Drew may make incisions only inside the nose (closed rhinoplasty). Dr. Drew may elect to perform open rhinoplasty, which involves making a small incision at the underside of the nasal tip. Following surgery a splint will be applied to the bridge of the nose to protect it and stabilize internal tissues.

Key Facts:
Anesthesia: General
Length of procedure: 1 to 3 hours
Length of stay: Outpatient
Discomfort: Mild to moderate. If nasal bones are broken as part of the surgery, expect 5 to 10 days of prescription pain medication.
Anticipate: Swelling for 1 to 6 months and bruising 7 to 10 days
Recovery: Splint for 5 to 7 days
Final result: 1 to 2 years
If the outcome of nose surgery does not meet expectations, additional surgery may be an option, with 9 to 12 months needed for healing before another surgery can be performed.

Eyelid Lift (Blepharoplasty):
Blepharoplasty removes excess skin and fat in the upper and/or lower eyelids. Blepharopaasty may be done alone or in combination with other facial cosmetic procedures.
The surgery is done most commonly under local anesthesia with intravenous sedation medication. It is often performed on an outpatient basis. Bruising and swelling are common following surgery, and application of cold to the surgical sites is generally recommended following surgery. A post-operative visit is recommended within the first week for suture removal.

Brow Lift:
By raising the forehead skin, altering muscles and removing excess tissue, a brow lift can soften facial lines, raise the eyebrow and restore a softer, more pleasing appearance. A forehead lift can be done alone or with other facial procedures.
There are several surgical approaches that can be used to accomplish a brow lift. Please call our office to schedule a consultation with Dr. Drew to discuss the different procedures at 706-724-7288.
Botox is an injection used to temporarily improve the look of your frown lines without changing the look of your whole face. The untreated facial muscles still work normally, allowing you to freely show facial expressions such as smiling in untreated areas.
Botox is a formulation that has been shown to deliver temporary improvement in moderate to severe frown lines, even with repeat treatments; thus, the effect of repeat treatment with Botox may be comparable to your first use. Botox is an injection that weakens the underlying facial muscles that cause wrinkles of the overlying skin. It is especially effective for treating forehead wrinkles, vertical frown lines between the eyes and crows feet. Botox injections can be combined with other treatments or procedures on the same day.
